BIMeta Main Toolbar

This button is used to create new projects keeping in tune with your company standards, while being able to duplicate templates, create levels, sheets, and views all in one swift move.  Follow the steps below in order to successfully create an entire standard for your company.  This procedure is applicable in Revit 2018 to Revit 2018.

Step 1:  Before beginning to modify all your line weights, fonts, and templates set up, we need to start with your units.

To set up units, click on the manage tab and click on Units (Left hand side).

From there, you will be able to change your default units from Metric or Imperial by clicking on the format of the units and then selecting the specific units for that unit of measure.  Click OK when completed.

Step 2: In this step, you will be modifying and setting your companies lineweight settings.  To do so, follow the below steps:

To set your lineweights, let us first begin on the manage tab.

Under additional settings, select line weights.  In this dialog, you will be able to modify your lineweight defaults to the weight you wish them to display.  Keep in mind these are based on scale.

If you would like additional linestyles other than the defaults set in this template, go to LineStyles under the manage tab / Additional settings. Here you will be able to create a multitude of different line     types by creating or modifying existing lines.

Finally, go into the Manage tab, and click on Object styles.

Here you will be able to set your Default Lineweight settings for your company.  Your object styles control your initial lineweight settings while under the view tab, visibility graphic settings will override these settings.  Please proceed to the next step.

Step 3: In this step, we will create text fonts for your company.  Proceed to the Annotation tab, and click on Text.

Once selected, in the properties dialog on the left hand side, click Edit Type.  From this view, you will be able to modify your fonts (Color, Type, and Size) but make sure to Duplicate each font unless you wish to override your current settings.

Step 4: Once you have set up your line weights, line styles, and text, now is time to create template files.  Several templates have been created for you that you can now edit the properties to them.  If you do not currently have these template files provided by our plugins, you can download a new copy through our download section.  To edit or adjust these templates, click on the View Tab, View Templates, and Manage Templates.

In this menu, you can alter what your company standards and the visibility of objects.

You are allowed to adjust any of these settings.

Once you have created your settings. you must have a template assigned to a floor plan as depicted on the left properties menu.
